My story started here in Clarkston where being raised as the youngest in a family of nine children naturally fostered an understanding of solid financial foundations. As I ventured off to college and integrated myself into various social and professional circles, it became clear that financial literacy (or interest for that matter) is not a societal expectation, but an exception.

One of my favorite parts of working in the field is the large diversity of life experiences and backgrounds that lead people to work with us. There are broad-based misconceptions that wealth management services are reserved for the uber-wealthy. This begs the question, does one need to have considerable investments before seeking financial advice? What’s more, does one need considerable wealth to establish good habits or seek fulfillment from their hard-earned money?

Our job isn’t to help determine where you’d like to go, our job is to help you figure out how to get there.

My relationship began with Verde when I participated in the company’s 2020 summer internship program. I then graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Sociology from Grand Valley State University later that year.

With my combined experiences and education, I decided to pursue a career in the financial planning industry given that it allowed me to combine my interest in financial markets with social science in a way I didn’t feel other fields would.

In my first full-time role out of undergrad, I was a paraplanner with an independent advising firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In that role, I honed my financial planning skills, focusing on the ins and outs of the many diverse circumstances in people’s financial and personal situations. The dynamic nature of the advising field and the fascinating individuals I get to work with every day are just some of the many reasons I’ve loved my time in the industry.

I was thrilled when the opportunity presented itself to join Verde Capital Management again in June of 2022, and I am excited to contribute to the unmatched efforts of the dedicated employees on the team. Outside of my professional experiences in Wealth Management, I’ve held positions in private equity, data analytics, writing, non-profits, and more. In my free time, I enjoy exploring new spots in the metro-Detroit area, listening to/making music, writing, and spending time with family and friends.
