I love all things space, from Star Wars, and Star Trek to the new private space race that is happening right now. One day, I would love to go to the moon or see the earth from orbit.
In Romania, where I was born, religion was outlawed so my grandmother (who was Catholic) baptized me and my brother in secret at great risk to her and the clergy doing the baptism.
Lobster: my parents could never afford this delicacy as a child, but when I got to try it on a cruise in Puerto Rico, I immediately fell in love. I could eat lobster tail every day.
I became a private pilot in 2012 and then became instrument rated in 2016. I now fly a Cirrus SR22 for fun out of Pontiac Airport.
I couldn't make up my mind where I wanted to propose to my wife Melissa. Florence (the city of Love) or Rome (the Holy city), so I split the difference and did it right in between. The rest is history.
I suffer from major FOMO and love to have fun. I especially love a good party. If you ask me to come, I will almost always say YES!!
Originally born in Romania, my family came to the United States in 1990. As a young boy, I always had a passion and a gift for math. My studies, which included college-level courses in 7th grade, gave me my first understanding of the effect high-interest compounding could play in the growth of numbers. Amassing 47 college credits by the time I finished high school, I was able to graduate Michigan State University in two years.
I began my professional career at American Express Financial Advisors (now called Ameriprise) in Troy, MI. Ameriprise had an excellent training program, where I gained experience in how to acquire and service clients. In 2007, I took on the added responsibility at Ameriprise of franchising. In addition to gaining a greater degree of freedom, I learned a great deal about running a business, managing staff, and building a growth company.
In June, 2008, I left Ameriprise and started Verde Capital Management. Since then, I have been able to focus on one critical thing: managing and growing my clients’ money. I help them simplify their lives through a sound investment plan that gives them the confidence to know that their goals are achievable and on track.
I am married to my wonderful wife, Melissa. We have three very energetic little boys; Carl, Julius & Troy. We have a dog; Zulu and two cats; Oliver and Ferdinand. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time at our hobby farm in Ortonville where we have more animals than I can name. In my spare time, I enjoy water sports, rock climbing, flying airplanes, chopping down dead trees and traveling all over the world.
