I grew up in Illinois with my parents, and two sisters (one of which is my identical twin!). I graduated from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul campus in Minnesota with high marks and an accounting degree. I studied for and passed my CPA exam shortly thereafter. I previously worked as an accountant, as a tax preparer, and in reporting and business intelligence in both large and small businesses.

My passion for financial coaching stemmed from my personal experience with my finances. As I say, “[y]ou would think that someone who loved numbers, graduated with an Accounting degree, and was a CPA must be great with their personal finances, right?” Well, like so many others, I never really learned how to manage my own finances in a practical and healthy way. It wasn’t until after I got married that I realized I needed help.

My husband and I came home from their beautiful destination wedding to a huge pile of debt. This was the first time I realized I had no idea what I was doing with my money. It was overwhelming for me and my husband, and at first we didn’t know where or how to start. Thankfully, we started Dave Ramsey’s program offered through my former employer in 2016. This began our journey into financial freedom. Within a year, we were debt free and working toward our future!

Through this experience, I learned I had a passion for financial coaching, and became a certified Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach and graduate of the Financial Coach Academy. I then created my own financial coaching company, HOPE Financial, through which I worked with individuals and families to create a better relationship with money, reduce their debt, and discover financial freedom. It was through my passion for helping my clients that I connected with Verde Capital, and joined the team in October 2023.

I currently live in the Kansas City, Missouri area with my husband and two young sons. I enjoy spending time with family, being part of our church community, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
