From a young age, I was interested in finance. I always paid attention to the people around me and their relationships with money. How did they spend it? How did they save it? Was it something that brought them anxiety or freedom?
In 2016, I left for The Ohio State University in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance with the hope of being able to understand how and why people have different relationships with money. Is it the way people are raised? Is it how they see their parents interact with money? Is it the fact that our schools do not provide any financial education to our children?
In 2018, I had two internships in finance that disappointed me. I found that at large the finance industry did not have the best intention of their clients in mind. In its nature, those companies were trying to make a profit and that profit often came at the expense of the people the company was trying to serve. This was not what I wanted to do.
In 2019, I found Verde Capital Management when searching for internships online. I landed the position and quickly found that Verde was my dream company. A company whose incentives align with the goals of their clients; where education and financial literacy come first. A company that lives by its core values and where those values shine through every employee.
After graduation, I was invited to join the Verde family full-time as a Service Advisor. I get to spend every day working with incredible coworkers and working for incredible clients. I work with individuals and families to decide what they want their relationship with money to be and get them to that goal. I love my job.
Outside of work, I live in Clarkston, MI with my three cats. I love music, movies, and sports. In my free time, you can find me golfing, playing basketball, or coaching youth sports teams.
